In order to preserve the health of our community, our election workers, and their families, while complying with Governor Whitmer’s voting recommendation outlined in Executive Order 2020-27, voting on May 5, 2020 to Renew Hudsonville Public School’s Operating Millage will be conducted via Absent Voter (AV) Ballot.
The Department of State has already mailed AV Ballot Applications to all qualified voters in Michigan. You should start receiving them, along with a letter from Secretary of State Benson, any day now.
The faster you complete the AV Ballot Application and return it to the Jamestown Charter Township Office, the faster we can mail you your ballot. For those who are unable to vote by mail, the Jamestown Township Office will serve as the only polling place for all three of Jamestown’s precincts. However, for the health and safety of all, we, along with Governor Whitmer, encourage as many as can to stay home and vote via AV Ballot.
Candy DeHaan, Jamestown Charter Township Clerk, will have limited office hours as required by the Bureau of Elections, but recommends calling ahead instead of simply dropping by.
Please refer to the above graphic for Ottawa County’s summary of the May 5, 2020 election procedure. If you have any questions about the process, please call Township Clerk, Candy DeHaan at 616-896-8376.
